Spent fuel tax proposed

April 29, 2006 - PLYMOUTH - Town officials aren’t the only ones playing hardball with Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station.

Plymouth’s state delegation, Sen. Terry Murray, D-Plymouth; Rep. Vinny deMacedo, R-Plymouth; and Rep. Tom O’Brien, D-Kingston; are pushing a bill through the Legislature that would allow the town to tax Pilgrim for the radioactive spent fuel rods stored on-site. The three testified before the state’s Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy Tuesday, April 25.

Plymouth Reps. Announce Additional Funds for Plymouth

April 28th, 2006 - Boston - Representative Vinny deMacedo (R-Plymouth) and Rep. Thomas O’Brien (D-Kingston) are pleased to announce Plymouth has received a final figure of $18,186,582 in Chapter 70 education funds up from last years total of $16,749,443. In addition to the $1,437,139 in extra Chapter 70 aid Plymouth will receive, they will also get $4,792,155 in Lottery aid which is a $936,115 increase from FY06.

Plymouth Delegation Urges Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy to Support Assessment for Spent Fuel Rods at Pilgrim

April 26, 2006 - BOSTON, MA - Senator Therese Murray (D-Plymouth), Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, Representative Vinny deMacedo (R-Plymouth) and Representative Tom O’Brien (D-Kingston) encouraged the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy yesterday to support legislation they filed to impose an assessment on Entergy for the storage of their spent fuel rods in Plymouth.
