President Bush held a meeting with Congressional leaders, and both presidential candidates. It seems that the hoped for agreement on the Wall Street bailout collapsed. Alabama Republican Senator Richard Shelby presented information to the meeting that may have been convincing.
So what does all of this mean for the first presidential debate? John McCain has vowed to sit out, unless a deal is struck.
